Graphs and Partially Ordered Sets: Recent Results and New Directions

We survey some recent research progress on topics linking graphs and finite partially ordered sets. Among these topics are planar graphs, hamiltonian cycles and paths, graph and hypergraph coloring, on-line algorithms, intersection graphs, inclusion orders, random methods and ramsey theory. In each case, we discuss open problems and future research directions.

Geometric-Arithmetic Index of Hamiltonian Fullerenes

A graph that contains a Hamiltonian cycle is called a Hamiltonian graph. In this paper we compute the first and the second geometric – arithmetic indices of Hamiltonian graphs. Then we apply our results to obtain some bounds for fullerene.

Symplectic and symmetric methods for the numerical solution of some mathematical models of celestial objects

In the last years, the theory of numerical methods for system of non-stiff and stiff ordinary differential equations has reached a certain maturity. So, there are many excellent codes which are based on Runge–Kutta methods, linear multistep methods, Obreshkov methods, hybrid methods or general linear methods. Although these methods have good accuracy and desirable stability properties such as A...

How Many Conjectures Can You Stand? A Survey

Wesurvey results and open problems in hamiltonian graph theory centered around two conjectures of the 1980s that are still open: every 4-connected claw-free graph (line graph) is hamiltonian. These conjectures have lead to awealth of interesting concepts, techniques, results and equivalent conjectures.

Solving a nurse rostering problem considering nurses preferences by graph theory approach

Nurse Rostering Problem (NRP) or the Nurse Scheduling Problem (NSP) is a complex scheduling problem that affects hospital personnel on a daily basis all over the world and is known to be NP-hard.The problem is to decide which members of a team of nurses should be on duty at any time, during a rostering period of, typically, one month. It is very important to efficiently utilize time and effort, ...
